Jesus is the healing bread the Father sent into the world. Jesus is the cure for death. He is the only one who can save us from eternal condemnation in hell.
Elijah had just faced and destroyed four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal. He fled to the mountains and hid in a cave. He was feeling downright depressed. The Lord healed him with a three-point therapy: rest, eat, and focus on God’s Will in your life.
We are all brought together in the church which is the body of Christ. We are strong and kept safe in the church because Christ is Lord of all. We share one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all.
God speaks no idle words. When He establishes a covenant, we can count on it. In Holy Baptism, God adopts us as His own, names us after Himself, and promises to be with us always to the end of the age. He is with us in the storms of life and even climbs into our boat.
