Our Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only mediator between God and us. There is salvation in no one else. Through him, God wants all to be saved. We were equipped with this knowledge and we willingly and joyfully spread the Good News.
The problem with sheep is they like to wander. What makes it worse is that they have a nonexistent navigational system. They get lost a lot. Sounds familiar? – “Adam and Eve: here are the rules!” – “No, thanks. We’ll find our way through life ourselves.”
The ultimate form of humility is our recognition that we cannot save ourselves. Salvation is a gift of God through his Son. It is granted, not earned. Let us live humbly under God and do his bidding.
Our journey with God goes from Mount Sinai to Mount Zion. On Sinai the Lord gave us his law. Zion is heaven. Our journey goes through Mount Golgotha where Jesus died for our sins and opened for us the way to heaven.
The author of Hebrews mentions people who were before our time and who lived their faith. There are many. We are surrounded by them and they push us to emulate their example.
